After spending one too many hours alone in her studio, Creator Amber Rae hit the streets of New York to ask strangers about their greatest fears, biggest aspirations, and the world they wanted to live in. What she discovered surprised her. Person after person opened their heart and shared their story. Tears were shed, hugs were exchanged, and aha! moments were sparked.
After hearing repeatedly that "No one has asked me questions like this before," Amber felt compelled to create spaces of introspection in public spaces. She turned to the work of JR, Candy Chang, and Humans of New York for inspiration, and the first wall went live in Brooklyn, New York to over 200,000 at the Dumbo Arts Festival in September of 2014. Now, the movement is spreading with the support of local Makers across the world.
